Pestana Hotel Group among the strongest companies of Portugal and with leadership in Travel and Leisure
The Group reached the highest score in the Travel and Leisure category of the Brand Strength and Energy study, carried out by the OnStrategy consultancy. The brand is the only one in this category with more than 70 points, in an analysis based on relationship, experience and results.
The Brand Strength and Energy study carried out in Portugal by the OnStrategy consultancy identifies the Pestana Hotel Group (PHG) as the leading brand in the Travel and Leisure category. In an evaluation carried out by 50 thousand citizens, which underlies the relationship with the client, the experience with the brand and the financial results, the hotel group achieved 70.3 points.
Observing the ranking of more than 2,000 companies audited, PHG was one of the 123 laureates with the title of Robust Brands, the highest class achieved in Portugal in the 2023 edition.
In an analysis of the overall calculation of the categories within the Tourism sector, the main national hotel group also stands out among this vast group of companies operating in Portugal. Observing the categories of Restaurants, Travel and Leisure, Travel Agencies, Car Rental, Aviation and Airlines, only the Pestana Hotel Group and the multinational McDonald’s are evaluated with a score above 70 points.
“Our activity is based on experiences, on the promise we make under the motto ‘The Time of your Life’, and the result achieved in this assessment made by thousands of citizens generates great internal satisfaction. We are aware of the responsibility inherent in the group’s five-decade history, with more than 100 hotels in operation and presence in 16 geographies, so studies of the size of the one now revealed are a comfort to the strategy adopted,” says José Theotónio, CEO of the Pestana Hotel Group.
In this ranking, certified by ISO20671 (strategy and strength assessment) and ISO10668 (financial assessment) standards, and with a jury of 50 thousand citizens – considered by OnStrategy as exemplary of our society, according to criteria of geographic distribution, gender, age, degree of education and social class -, the Travel and Leisure category includes, behind the Pestana Hotel Group, a trio separated from each other by barely two tenths: Ritz Carlton, with 67.9 points, Sheraton, with 67.8 and Pousadas de Portugal, with 67.7 points.Back
