PESTANA AMSTERDAM RIVERSIDE SETTLES IN AMSTERDAM

The Pestana Hotel Group opens one of its Collection Hotels in Amsterdam. The Pestana Amsterdam Riverside, is a luxury 5-star hotel that will be located in a national monument on the Amsteldijk, overseeing the most important river of Amsterdam. The Portuguese Pestana Hotel Group that purchased the property in 2014 renovated the building completely and used all the historic elements of the building to create a unique, comfortable, luxurious and warm setting. Pestana Amsterdam Riverside will have 154 rooms and apartments, a new restaurant and bar under supervision of famous Dutch chef Peter Lute, a monumental Ball Room, its own Spa and Welness centre, different meeting rooms and a town garden with a monumental tree where guests can enjoy the unique atmosphere the whole year through.

Clock Tower and former city archiveSince 1892, the remarkable monument in Neo-renaissance style where the Pestana Amsterdam Riverside settles down, is the true eyecatcher of the ‘Quartier Latin’ of Amsterdam, De Pijp area. The historic building created by the famous Dutch architect Roelof Kuipers once served as the Town Hall and City Archive of the Amsterdam Community and therefore captures a lot of stories of Amsterdam. 125 years later, with the recreation of the building, these remarkable stories and memories are coming to live again in the new concept and design of the hotel.

Studio Linse, a famous Dutch design studio with a track record in hospitality, is responsible for the translation of the concept into the rooms, the bar and restaurant and rest of the hotel. This resulted in different spaces with different atmospheres. Whether the guests are located in the ‘Clock Tower’ of the monument building, in the former city archive or the brand new ‘diamond’ building, their experience will be exceptional and authentic.

 

Rooms and apartments

The hotel offers 154 rooms and apartments. The property has various room categories, ranging from Deluxe, Executive to Junior Suites and several Signature Suites including a unique 4-bedroom Presidential Suite including an 88 square meters living. In a tribute to the origin of the building, the towering ceilings are kept in style with original structured beams, along with the authentic windows of the monument. The rooms, all with natural light, range in size from 20 to 207 square meters. The apartments designed in the modern River House offer the perfect solution for those who don’t want to give up the comfort of a hotel but want to keep their privacy.

Pestana Amsterdam Riverside will have its own bar and restaurant under supervision of

famous Dutch chef Peter Lute. The restaurant, named ARC., will bring fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant and bar reflect a light, intimate and inviting atmosphere. ARC. will be a place to have breakfast, a good coffee, a great meal or a marvellous drink afterwards. Prepare yourself to be delighted by an original and exquisite cuisine enhanced by the natural touch of culinary herbs.

Spa & Welness Centre
Pestana Amsterdam Riverside offers its guests a place where they can find true relaxation, a place where they can balance body and mind and let everyday tensions slide off. The 250 square metres spa and wellness centre of the hotel offers treatment rooms, a sauna and Turkish bath, an indoor swimming pool and well-equipped gym with Technogym equipment.
